FAQ's

FAQ's

You have questions, we have answers.

  • Are the new inks Epson inks?
    1. Yes! The new ink is virtually identical to the old ink just with a slightly different formula inside. It is Epson brand, Epson quality, and the price is still the same.
  • When are they going to do my change over?
    1.  You can schedule your appointment online or contact us to order your discounted first kit. A member of our Noritsu team will also be contacting people to set up a time to schedule the changeover procedure. This is an ongoing process and we hope to have everyone converted within the next year.
  • What do I do with my old inks?
    1. As long as your inks meet our return guidelines (see Swap-out page) we will receive them and issue a full credit. After filling out an RTN form on our Swap-out page please use the return label included in your first set of inks to send back your old inks. You can contact a member of our sales team to learn more about our Swap-Out program: sales@noritsu.com
  • When is this going to happen?
    1. We expect to have everyone changed over within the next year. Until then we will continue to carry the old inks until everyone has been converted.
  • Why are they changing inks?
    1. Due to circumstances beyond our control Epson has discontinued the current line of inks we use. This procedure is an update that will allow our printers to use the new ink cartridges in our printers.
  • What if I don’t want to change over?
    1. You do not have to have the update if you don’t want to. Please be aware though the current ink is discontinued and will soon no longer be available. To adapt to the new ink we must run the update and ink swapping procedure so you can use the new ink.
  • If I don’t use Epson Ink, will I still be able to use it after this?
    1. Since the old formula of ink and the new formula of ink are incompatible, the software update we perform during the ink swapping procedure makes sure the old cartridges won’t be accepted afterwards to avoid contamination. Because of this, the old inks and subsequently any other versions of it, will not be accepted by the printer once the swap is performed.
  • How can I get the discounted ink?
    1. For a limited time we are offering major discounts to our Contract and GNAP customers only. This is one of the many benefits of signing up for our program. GNAP is free! If you would like more information on joining our GNAP program please contact our sales team at: sales@noritsu.com
  • What if I have multiple printers?
    1. For those customers who have more than one printer we may still be able to perform the swap over the phone while using remote desktop. If you feel you would like an in person visit we recommend pairing it with your Preventative Maintenance visit to reduce any out of pocket expenses.
  • Can I still use the old ink after we run the update?
    1. No, the old ink will no longer be accepted by the printer once the Ink Swap procedure has been performed on the printer. This is due to an incompatibility of ink formulas used in the new and old ink cartridges.
  • What will happen if I put the old ink in the printer after we swap it?
    1. The printer will give you an ink cartridge error and will not print until the appropriate cartridge has been installed.
  • Is there any difference in color?
    1. You may notice minor differences in color due to the new cartridge using a different pigment formula of ink, but tests have shown it to be minor and able to be balanced out with checks.
  • What do I do with the ink that's in my machine?
    1. The left over ink that is in the machine at the time of the change over may be disposed of and cannot be returned for credits as it does not meet the guidelines of our swap-out program. Because of this we have discounted the first set of inks for everyone regardless of contract status.
  • How does the ink swap work?
    1. There are 3 files that need to be run on the QSS PC along with an ink initial fill process. The instructions will walk you through where to put each file and which ones to run first. Once the process begins it cannot be interrupted. The update will prompt you step by step and will run the ink initial fill procedure for you. All you need to do is replace the ink cartridges when prompted and run some head cleanings.
